Johnson Elementary houses a 3,100 sq. ft. carpeted media center. Our computers are networked for Internet access, Accelerated Reader, STAR, and Destiny (click to enter) online card catalog. You may click on the word Destiny, click Johnson Elementary Library, and click catalog to search our collection of resources that students may borrow. Students do not have access to videos or the Professional collection. The current collection of media resources exceeds 10,000 books, videos, CDs, DVDs, and audiocassettes.  The collection is continually growing and changing as teachers and students request new titles. Many titles become outdated or damaged and those are replaced with new ones. In past years, our library has been allocated money from the State Department to purchase library resources and student computers. For the past several years, we have not received money from the State Department, due to the recession. JES thanks Representative Dan Williams for the funds he has supplied to JES for educational programs and new resources for our library the past several years. We continue to rely on our Book Fair fund raiser to maintain our library and purchase new resources.
